About student research projects

With up to 500 euros, students are supported in living the everyday life of a scientist and thus learn what research means. This can happen in a number of ways:

  • In the past semesters many students used the financial support to participate in workshops or conferences. This is an important part of a scientist's work, as conferences, discussions with colleagues, provide him with ideas that often lead to new research projects. Teaching@LMU offers students the opportunity to attend and participate in these discussions.
  • The financial support was also used by students for their final thesis. For example, in the winter semester, the Mathematics Institute was able to support a student in her didactics research with children.

Flexibility is therefore an important feature of the Teaching@LMU support program, i.e. students are given virtually free rein in project design with their lecturer.

The students' reports on completed projects from previous semesters offer suggestions.
